Fall 2019 Clients The American Red Cross seeks to help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to natural and human-caused disasters through the immediate mobilization of people and resources and the provision of community, workplace, and school-based training. This region delivers Community Disaster Education, First Aid/CPR and other types of life-saving health and safety training to thousands of people across our region. A Better Life for Kids is a non-profit organization founded to provide opportunities and to invest in the futures of children in need. We strive to achieve lasting improvements in the quality of life of needy children in Ghana by providing essential supplies, funding education opportunities, providing leadership development for children and orphans. Ronald McDonald House believes when a child is sick, a family is sick. Their mission is to let families get better together. Through Ronald McDonald House® and Family Room® programs, we have been by their side since 1977, providing a caring and compassionate environment where families can rest and find support while remaining close to their hospitalized child. Kenneth Young Center is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit, comprehensive provider of mental health and older adult support services. Kenneth Young Center’s compassionate professionals help people of all ages overcome life’s challenges and achieve their goals through personalized behavioral health and older adult services. We help people feel good, do better, and find solutions. MakerGirl was founded in a social entrepreneurship class at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, our Co-Founders, Julia Haried and Elizabeth Engele, were inspired by the question "What bothers you?" Motivated by their past experiences, MakerGirl was created to inspire young girls to pursue STEM fields through 3D printing sessions. Our mission is to develop, acquire and distribute financial assistance and other resources to support students in need. We work to enhance the quality and effectiveness of education for the benefit of students in Niles Township. Through partnerships with alumni, friends, our neighbors and the business community, The Education Foundation supplements public funds with private philanthropy.
